Grant Writer

Reports To

President or Volunteer Manager 

Time Commitment

5–12 hours per month (deadline-driven)

Role Summary

The Grant Writer Volunteer researches, drafts, and submits grant proposals aligned with the organization’s mission and capacity. This role focuses on quality over quantity. Assist in the story telling of the organization with a growing grant portfolio in mind. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for attending any required grant proposal meetings 

  • Research relevant funding opportunities

  • Draft grant narratives and supporting materials

  • Collaborate on budgets and program descriptions

  • Track deadlines and reporting requirements

  • Maintain grant documentation

Required Skills

  • Experience in writing winning grant proposals  

  • Strong writing and storytelling ability

  • Research skills

  • Attention to detail and deadlines

  • Experience with healthcare or breast cancer grant writing is a plus 

Compensation is through a 1099. Commensurate with experience and open to negotiations. 


Content Creator Volunteer

Reports To

Marketing Lead or President

Time Commitment

3–8 hours per month

Role Summary

The Content Creator captures and shares the organization’s story through visuals, writing, and digital media. This role helps translate impact into content people actually want to engage with.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create social media posts, graphics, or short videos

  • Capture photos or stories at events or programs

  • Assist with blog posts or newsletters

  • Maintain a content calendar

  • Ensure content aligns with brand and mission

Ideal Skills

  • Creativity and visual storytelling

  • Familiarity with basic design or content tools

  • Ability to work within brand guidelines



Survey & Data Volunteer

Reports To

Volunteer Manager 

Time Commitment

Project-based (2–10 hours per project)

Role Summary

The Survey & Data Volunteer helps the organization measure impact, collect feedback, and turn information into insight. This role ensures decisions are informed—not just based on gut feelings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design simple surveys (participant, volunteer, community)

  • Collect and organize data including pre and post data 

  • Analyze trends and summarize findings

  • Create basic reports or visuals for board use

  • Support grant reporting and program evaluation

Required Skills

  • Advanced Excel 

  • Ability to explain data clearly to non-data people

  • Experience with Data visualization 

  • Assist in identify outcomes, metrics and measures 

  • Familiar with data coding 

Event Planner Volunteer

Reports To

Volunteer Manager

Time Commitment

5–15 hours per month during event cycles

Role Summary

The Event Planner Volunteer coordinates logistics for fundraising and community events. This role turns ideas into actual, functional events—on time, on budget, and without chaos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan event timelines, logistics, and task lists

  • Coordinate volunteers, vendors, and partners

  • Support permits, insurance, and venue needs

  • Track event expenses and materials

  • Assist with day-of execution and post-event follow-up

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Comfortable with Donor software, Google Office for communication

  • Must be able to submit appropriate paperwork in a timely manner 

  • Able to remain enthusiastic in a growing organization
